The GRNSA Coaching Staff

Sarah Hoekman became a part of the Grand Rapids Novi Sad Aquatics coaching staff in September of 2011. She has a passion for helping to guide young swimmers from their earliest splashes into the competitive sphere of swimming and she enjoys watching their hard work and determination pay off.

In the summer of 2010, Sarah gained her first coaching experience by working with the seasonal age group team at Stonewater Country Club, where she taught swim lessons and provided continued stroke instruction for the developmental groups.

From 2011 to the present, Sarah has been the assistant coach for the Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School girls team under the direction of head coach Mio Vasic. She is an ASCA Level 1 coach and a water safety instructor. She graduated from South Christian High School in 2011 and now attends Grand Rapids Community College.

As an age group swimmer, Sarah swam for both the Kentwood Aquatic Club and the Byron Center Dawgs seasonal WMSL teams. She went on to swim for four years at Byron Center High School, where she was a multiple OK Conference finalist and a Division 1 MHSAA State qualifier.
